Exercises Taller - How To Grow Taller Through Exercise

Would you like to increase your height? Are you past puberty? Have you been told you will not grow taller? What would you do if you found exercises you could use to start growing taller today?

For most people, their natural growing is done by age twenty. However, you can still add several inches to your height at twenty or well beyond. There are specific exercises that improve your posture and reverse spinal compression. In addition, these exercises can increase your muscle strength and improve flexibility.

Exercises Taller - Your Spine

our spine has two major components, bone called vertebrae and then fuild filled discs known as intervertebral discs.  These two components alternate to form the spine.  The discs provided cushioning and prevent the bones from rubbing together.  A ruptured disc describes the loss of a disc allowing the bone to painfully rub.

As you sit or stand, your spine must support your head and shoulders.  Over time, the discs compress and deflate.  As they deflate, the spine shortens, which shortens your torso.

A hanging stretch uses the force of gravity to reverse the compression. You hand from an overhead bar by your arms with you feet free of the ground.  This allows gravity to pull and elongated your body.  This will reinflate the discs and lengthen your spine a torso.

A further step is not just hang, but perform pull ups.  Pull ups use gravity to reverse compression, but they also muscle across the top of the back.  These tighter, strong upper back muscles pull the shoulders back, correcting any slouch and improving posture.  Futhermore, pull ups are a high intensity exercise, which has been shown to naturally increase human growth hormone within the body.

Exercises Taller - Yoga and Stretching

Performing Yoga or other stretches can increase your height.  Below are 3 stretches for growing taller

Cobra Stretch

Lie on the floor with palms down at our shoulders.  Pick up your shoulders, leading with the chin by arching your back. Stretch as far as possible, hold for twenty seconds, release and return to the floor.  Repeat the stretch.

Leg Stretch

From a seated position, spread your legs open.  Reach for your toes, attempting to keep the knee as straight as possible.  Alternative between legs and keep your hips stationary.

Bridge Stretch

Lying down with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor as close to your butt as possible. Grasps the ankles.  Raise your hips up and arch your spine, lifting your abs towards the ceiling.  Go as high as possible and then return to the starting position. You may keep your arms at your side if you cannot perform the stretch while holding ankles.
